06.10 | No handlebars, no handlebars, no handlebars

Podrunner and I spent part of this evening together again – Good times! My workout was over before I knew it. Working out around 9PM makes me very awake for several hours. I need to go to bed now because I have to be up in a few hours. If you work out, when do you do it?

  1. Angie, good for you!!! I need to get Bob’s old IPOD, maybe that will help the motivation. I workout about 6:30 or 7:00pm. Just depends on traffic, it can sometimes take an hour to make it up Riverside Dr., and I won’t even talk about 315. Then I workout for an hour-10/stair climber, 25/treadmill and the rest is spent with weights. It is very difficult to sleep, I don’t know if it’s because of the time I exercise, the hot flashes or a combo. THEY, whoever they are, say it should be done in the morning….I’m just not that motivated-it’s hard enough to do it in the evenings!!! Keep it up!!!

  2. My plan is to start working out in the evenings after dinner. It’s the only time that will work, other than early- or mid-morning walks. After Paul gets home, after everyone is fed, but before bath and bed time. Whew!

  3. When I was working I was a morning person. I pretty much still am. I wake up at around 6 or 7 am. As soon as I woke up, 6:00 am I changed from my PJ’s, put on some jogging or old tshirts, put the coffee on and Comet and I would take off for our walk to the store to buy a newspaper. At first I was out of breath before I got to the end of the block, but after a few months, Comet and I were actually jogging most of the way. I didn’t miss a morning, no matter how cold it was, or rainy, or hot. I just automatically did it to get motivated. It became a habit. It gave me just enough time to have a cup of coffee, read the paper, get ready for work. It became so routine that I could do it in my sleep. But it felt great.I got to watch the sunrise. I miss being able to do that so much. I thought about getting out there in my wheelchair in the mornings to try it just to see if I can do it but that’s probably not a bright idea.
It’s would be easier than trying to get Comet in that little back seat in the car to drive down there. So long answer short, I was an early morning person.
